Paulsen & Nilsen | Norway Oslo Minimalist Elegant Wooden Villa

Сonsectetur adipiscing elite, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua enim ad veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut.

This 4-storey villa is set on a hillside overlooking the Oslo Fjord. Natural European oak, colored concrete, mineral painted plaster walls and copper plated steel give warmth and touch to this concrete frame villa. THE FULL-LENGTH GLASS ELEVATION CAN BE FULLY OPENED, NOT ONLY FILLING THE HOUSE WITH BRILLIANT SCANDINAVIAN LIGHTS, BUT ALSO MAXIMIZING VIEWS OF THE CITY AND FJORDS. In the challenging Nordic climate, focusing on indoor-outdoor living is a unique achievement. Furniture and lighting come from all over the world, and natural textiles such as linen, leather, hemp and wool blend well with timeless hard surfaces.

Concrete slabs have unique conical edge details that give the house a slim profile. Wide glass windows maximally enlarge the panoramic view and mark out the sculptural pine trees that adorn the nearby landscape. These pines evoke a cool outside climate but are masked by the warmth created by the interior palette and material choices. A truly timeless material made of solid European oak flooring, wood-slatted ceilings and copper-colored metal. A white plasterboard surface is not found in this home, and mineral chalk paint softens the hard surface of concrete and steel.

Made by Italian genius craftsman Umberto d'Aquino, the steel staircase rises from the center of the building — it's a joy to see it elevated into space. THE SOFT LEATHER OF THE PEDALS CONTRASTS SHARPLY WITH THE TOUGH STEEL STRUCTURE, PROVIDING COMFORTABLE FOOTBED CUSHIONING WHEN CLIMBING.
The staircase itself is a work of art, next to a large woven work by Australian artist Crossing Threads. Commissioned hanging at the entrance, the natural landscape around the venue corresponds to the woven textured surface of this beautiful piece of heavy art.

By working with a huge team of consultants and experts, P&N has managed to hide all technical devices and create many customized solutions. In addition, despite numerous hard surfaces, the design achieves excellent acoustic environments. It is these invisible efforts that greatly promote harmony when moving through space. 1:1 testing of models and materials has always been an important part of the design process.

P&N adopts a Scandinavian style in its furniture and textile selection, with an interior and highly considered linen and leather palette that focuses on texture rather than pattern, bringing a more warm and intense sense of home to the interior. Design focuses on making beautiful choices over time, which is why furniture, artwork, and textiles are mostly made from natural materials — the longer they take, the more textured they look!
