Casa Mate is located in many places in the south of Guadalajara, Mexico. Mate House is a country house where geometry plays a fundamental role, illuminating the project through a central garden corridor with a walled garden, which is intended to be a solid source of privacy in every interior space.
Plane and building volume are composed of orthogonal lines. The interior space is designed to always interact with the visual finish. In front of the house is an entrance terrace with kitchen and living room, connected to the entrance area, which, when opened, becomes a single space. The master bedroom is connected to the terrace by an external corridor. The room is isolated, taking advantage of the two-height spatial fluidity and a view towards one of the side gardens. Inside the master bedroom, there is a dressing room and a study with a two-storey high view, and an indoor garden bathroom. In the center of the villa, there is a central garden with a bare concrete swimming pool and a private terrace with a fire pit, which clearly expresses the module of the project.
At the back of the land is the core of the room, three are on the bottom and three are on the upper level. Always put privacy first, on the ground floor, the entrance is hidden by the wooden lining, and on the upper level, the room is accessed through the stairs and corridors in the back. In this space, the designer developed a small plaza of rustic stones, pots and trees that blends well with the surrounding polished concrete. The materiality of the project is simplified to cover walls, marble floors and granite details covered with polished cement and wood, making the physical volume the main focus of the villa.
