Blairgowrie House's seemingly “essentialist” lines mask the many complexities we faced in designing and building this beautiful and simple coastal villa. However, limitations and unforeseen obstacles are not something we avoid, and all the challenges associated with working through strict blockades and in steep locations within the jungle fire attack level (BAL) 29 area are met with great passion and precision.

Blairgowrie House is located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and was designed in collaboration with Bellhaus design office. The house has a strong external visual impact, and the designers were inspired to treat the interior design in the same bold way. Architectural and interior design styles inspired by rugged coastlines and European essentialism. MANNA MADE ADOPTS A STREAMLINED AND PURPOSEFUL DESIGN APPROACH THROUGHOUT THE HOME, ESPECIALLY IN CUSTOM BUILT-IN WOODWORK AND FURNITURE WITH A PALETTE OF NATURAL, TACTILE AND SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS, INCLUDING HANDMADE TILES AND TILES, NATURAL WOOD WOOD FINISHES, MARMORINO LIMESTONE AND FRENCH OAK ENGINEERED FLOORING.

Spacious but well thought out living space is a requirement and the master bedroom is designed to connect directly to the outdoors. This is achieved by incorporating glass, which reveals low-maintenance native landscapes, outdoor kitchens and private fire pits, with rolling limestone paths throughout the property. Entertainment features such as a “sunken lounge” with a beautiful wooden fireplace, thermo-conditioned mini swimming pool, home automation and surround sound add a strong element of luxury to this family home. Integrated sustainability measures include double-glazed windows, insulated windows, circular heating, low toxic product specifications, air filtration in duct heating and cooling systems, external shutters for increased light and heat control, and, where possible, the use of material edging to reduce waste. This project has spanned more than 4 years of planning and preparation, and we are proud of the results as we are with our clients, who benefit from the tremendous effort, love and commitment that goes into every detail.
