The landscape is a fundamental element in the development of this project and the terrain of the site. The main concept of the design is to remain private while exploring visual amplitude and natural connections. The projection on the ground floor is intended to be U-shaped, surrounding the pool, and it is interesting to match the landscape. On this floor, the main spaces and uses are integrated, between them there is a living area, a dining area and a food area. Surrounding those previously related uses, on this floor, there are kitchens, laundries, cinemas and offices, which together help ensure privacy.
On the second floor, the shape of the building follows a linear pattern, accommodating all the bedrooms open to the view of the valley, while the front facade of this volume is mainly closed with only one horizontal glass surface. Back at the bottom, the different uses show the potential for integration of the site area. Together with the food area, the cellar creates a backdrop where the landscape can be seen. The wooden ceiling maximizes the space, bringing comfort to the space as long as it spreads throughout the social area.
Combining an extended glass opening with a solution that guarantees privacy is a challenge. IN THE CENTRAL COURTYARD WHERE THIS POOL IS LOCATED, MINIMALIST OPENINGS MAKE THE LINK BETWEEN INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SPACES POSSIBLE. Side elevations are mainly solid and closed. In sum, the result of the construction is a shape that blends perfectly with nature in a comfortable house using natural materials.
Among the selected materials, there is concrete, wood and natural stone. These are the main constituent elements. However, as a good specific site project, plantings become an additional element of the selected material. It appears in the flower box and also depicts the entrance of the house, helping to form a dynamic palette throughout the year when different shades match the building material.
In the interior of the house, natural wood blades are used to illuminate the finish, creating a refined look and contrast with the solid wood ceiling. The space is enriched with furniture and decoration connected with other architectural elements. As an architecture studio, Studio Colnaghi Arquitetura seeks results that are authentic, timeless and comfortable. The balance between the finished material and some industrial materials is an interesting point of the project, since it can be recognized in the gastronomic space where stainless steel appears.
