The original design concept of House 345 came from the needs of the owners. Inwardness and privacy are the two main components of owners' expression. To achieve this goal and create a space for everyday use by the family, the design team decided to identify several hypothetical areas that would be realized through physical and mental constraints. The large wall of uncoated concrete at the front of the building precisely achieves the natural boundary separating the interior of the house from the public space. It seals the privacy of the rear dwelling, while the optional opening provides a controlled entrance with different levels of security. The structure is rewritten here in different terms (same result).
Bare slab concrete as a simple, simple material with a stone-like internal structure that acts as a “protection” while defining the boundaries and overall beauty of the house. The references to traditional Cypriot architecture are very strong. The concept of interior courtyards and the unsurpassed aspect of traditional Cypriot architecture are analyzed and reconstructed in modern terms and vocabulary in a new urban landscape, with a different aesthetic and faithful to the characteristics and materials of the structure.
Inside, the house on the first floor is organized into an open space, uniting the living room and the restaurant, creating an open daily space, separating them from the natural border of the kitchen. Finally, the inward features of House 345 show the opposite in terms of elevation — the entire rear view area is open to the exterior rear space of the courtyard.
