Jubilee Hills is a hilly residential area in Hyderabad, India. It's filled with large, gorgeous homes, most of which are projects for their influential residents rather than buildings that are climate or environmentally sensitive. As a result, each building tries to appear unique and more striking in its surroundings, making this neighborhood a fusion of architectural styles from different times and places. Compared to other neighbourhoods in Hyderabad, its features (if any) come from the rolling mountain roads, rocky terrain and the continued presence of large trees, especially the yellow flame tree (Peltophorum pterocarpum).
The venue is 160 feet long with 60 feet each short side facing south and north. The shorter side has road access and a 30-foot slope that descends from south to north. There are huge yellow flame trees four stories high on the south and north sides of the venue. A grand entrance hall with a hanging garden with skylights welcomes people to the lower two floors of the house through a huge door. These floors accommodate all the leisure spaces, centered on a huge double-height space with a swimming pool inside. The five floors above open backwards, forming a trapezoidal structure in the north, which corresponds to the rolling rice fields of India. These terraces are covered all year round by the flooring in front of them, filling the view on the lower terrace that overlaps that follow. The towering yellow flame trees on the north and south sides serve as a natural visual barrier to the surrounding environment, and their eye-catching seasonal flowers add lush yellow foliage to the ambient palette.
Inside the house, there is a huge central space with two connected double-height areas. A huge, blank, marble-covered wall permeates the entire volume, and light shines on the walls by cleverly placed skylights above the indoor growing area. A sculptural staircase meanders in light and dark contrast, its shape changing with the skylight at the top of the headboard, in the form of a fan that extends to the living room on the first floor. There are three bedrooms, two on the first floor and the third on the second floor, all of which can be seen through the interior windows. The master bedroom occupies the third floor and is equipped with an attached study and a private balcony.
