The project is a small terraced villa, built on 150 ㎡ of land, located in a dense community of relatively ancient complexes. One of the challenges of studiokian designing this house is that the road in front is relatively narrow, only about 5 meters wide, which makes it feel very close to the neighbors, while meeting the client's need to maximize the building area. Parking, service area and guest rooms are on the first floor of the house, more public function rooms such as prayer/function room, living room and restaurant are on the second floor and more private areas such as bedrooms are on the third floor. By distributing rooms in this way, the second floor can be freely opened to nature and outdoor gatherings, forming an independent oasis in the middle of a dense community.

The basic principle of the spatial design of this townhouse is compression and release, while the one-story entrance hall is designed with low ceilings, quiet materials and rather narrow. When walking up the stairs and looking up at the sky, the light penetrates deep into the entire space from the spaces and skylights that cross the second and third floors. Finally, the bright open space will be warmly welcomed, which is the prayer/meeting room. It is strategically located between the first floor and the second floor for a high-ceilinged feel, as it will be the first room encountered by guests. This room can be fully open to a semi-outdoor staircase where the staircase can be an extension of the seating space. After the party, guests will naturally enter the living room and restaurant through this outdoor terrace, where they will enjoy food and drinks. Tableware will be transferred from the storage room by elevator to the kitchen below for cleaning.

The stairs and balusters from the second floor to the third floor are designed to be as light and transparent as possible to keep the house as open as possible as space is limited. The front of the house is well stratified with a garden and a glass brick wall. The choice of glass brick material is to maximize the private space of this house, since nearby neighbors are very close, while bringing diffused natural light to the interior (a cluster of large rooms and stairs). The same glass tiles are also used on the ceiling of the prayer room to create a more sacred feeling and enhance the feeling of discovery, as this is the theme of this house.
