Perry House is focused on emerging as a thoughtful building volume that interacts with the surrounding environment while defining its residential product by immersing itself. For Architecture's insightful, insightful approach lays the foundation for the final home, injecting an innate calm quality into its interior and exterior spaces.
Perry House is a backlash against growing urban expansion and the perceived need for larger homes. STACKING ITS COMFORT ON MULTIPLE LEVELS, THE NEW BUILDING FORM REQUIRES BLOCKING AND SHIELDING ANY POTENTIAL LANDSCAPE AROUND THE HOUSE, FORMING A U-SHAPE ON THE SITE. The carvings of the inner courtyard create a safe harbor for the gardens and swimming pools, ensuring that they are protected, surrounded by architectural forms, and visibly disconnected from the surrounding environment.
To balance the hustle and bustle of their daily lives, clients need to make their home a peaceful place. While minimalist design approaches are favored, For Architecture recognizes that homes can be boring — at their core, the feeling of needing a home. Therefore, it is necessary to strike an appropriate balance between personal expression and order. At the same time, the material of the brick provides a feeling of protection, its weight and warm texture are both calm and pleasant, suitable for family homes.
The connection between the indoor and private outdoor landscape areas is key to creating this universal sense of tranquility. Capture the vibrancy of family life, ensuring a home feel private but internally constrained through long linear corridors and wide glass windows with clear views. The north courtyard becomes the center of the residence, and the living area surrounds this central element. Full-height frameless glass windows blur the boundaries between inside and outside, so the pool becomes an inseparable part of the indoor space—light reflecting off the water surface and through the limestone floor. The arrangement of living elements around the open space reflects the way of life of the family and their values, making the outdoor space a room of its own.
The materials are the hallmarks of Perry House, and combined with concrete bricks, limestone and carbonized wood, their inherent variety of contrasts and textures adds a certain depth to the family home and interacts with natural light. As a complementary patio with an open connector to the natural world, the skylight is located above to bring light into the home. A long linear skylight that runs the length of the living room provides a subtle splash of daylight on the brick walls, accentuating the texture of the walls and softly illuminating the space. Skylights elsewhere in the project are also used in a similar way to shine sunlight onto wall surfaces, providing softer light.
