Bronte House II transforms 1980s dwellings into homes that reflect modern and contemporary occupations. Madeleine Blanchfield Architects emphasizes the constant warmth, a sense of levitation and improved access to natural light to convey the openness of the residential core.
The owners have been building and living here since the 1980s, and they want to prepare for the coming stage of life and give the house a new makeover. Bronte House II is a thoughtful evolution of the previous structure into a revolutionary resort with easy access to nearby amenities. Madeleine Blanchfield Architects created this contemporary residence, ensuring that the personality and needs of the owner are embodied in the newly carved space.
THE OVERALL PROPORTIONS AND INTERNAL CONNECTIVITY OF THE DWELLING HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED TO REFLECT THE OPENNESS OF A MODERN HOME. Embedded reflections on residents' current and expected lifestyles are an integral part of the presentation, producing high-quality and lasting results. A new entrance space was created by removing the existing staircase from the center of the entrance hall. The newly laid out living area then radiates outwards from this central location, making the entrance a key point.
The warm feeling of covering ensures that the family feels familiar and comfortable, while being refreshed and connected. To further ensure the flow between internal areas, it is important to open the portal to the landscape and draw the focus to the garden and the view in the distance with the frame. Mute and neutral elements combine with thoughtful fine woodwork and detail to enhance daily interactions and emphasize appreciation for craftsmanship. Additives such as carbonized wood and parquet flooring combine with lighter inserts to create a balance between light and dark, making the texture difference stand out.
