We believe that the nature of the space is for human use, the flat features must meet the individual needs of the owner, and good design follows good principles. The design of the apartment is both private and even private. This requires designers to have a deep understanding of the owners' life trajectories and special needs to develop designs. Built in Liangizan Cultural Village in Hangzhou, the apartment is built on a top floor with a loft with a unique view of the mountains and the city. The owners are freelance photographers, which gives our team enough creative space. The owners want this home to be indefinable, bringing together venues such as art galleries, studios, residences, socials, photography, and more.

The apartment consists of two floors and an open-plan layout that combines a photography studio, a multifunctional living room and an open-plan restaurant. Styled wrapping around the original load-bearing column gives the space a fun experience from a variety of perspectives. While keeping the owner in mind with the animal-friendly space, using the corner gray space of the public toilet, a hole is reserved (the daily entrance to the cat toilet), allowing animals and people to live in harmony. The guest bedroom has a hidden double bed in the entire wardrobe, giving the space more life when not in use Place of movement.

The entrance and middle areas have been partially raised to create a three-dimensional experience of different spaces, and the use of two black handmade bricks with different area proportions creates a certain sense of mystery. At the same time, the large-area sliding doors provide a level of openness to the reserved living rooms, while separating them from each other. Hand-finished cream-painted walls define the open space. The second floor is the owner's private space, dividing more public and private space through the use of different materials. The bathroom, study, dressing room and storage room are all wrapped in two boxes. The original architectural remains of the windows and structures are the difficulty of this transformation. Changing the air quality must solve this problem. If the eyes are the windows of the mind, then the windows must be the spirit of the building. Since it is the top floor, there is plenty of light, so the ratio adjustment of the windows is an important basis for controlling the coordination of space indoors and outdoors. A restrained injection of light gives a feeling of atmosphere and joy to the space. The space mixes a variety of materials, using brass, aluminum, handmade bricks, stone, microcement, and cream-paint, and finally achieves a harmonious balance by controlling the use of materials. THE ENTIRE SPACE IS CENTERED AROUND A HANDMADE CUSTOM PURPLE COPPER ROTATING STAIRCASE, AND THE HANDMADE FEEL OF THE MATERIAL WILL APPROPRIATELY CONVEY A WARM ATMOSPHERE. To some extent, the space will have a calm, warm atmosphere.

American minimalist leader Donald Judd saw the value of heavy objects themselves, believing that “shape, volume, color, surface are things themselves. They should not be buried in other things. Through carefully considered geometry, line proportions, and materials, the designer surprisingly strikes a certain balance of combinations of materials with clumsy craftsmanship. More than just expressing silence, tranquility and warmth in a space, it's a place where you want to create a spiritual haven for the owner.

We want to reduce the items in the house, achieve an “empty” atmosphere, designed more hidden storage functions to free up more public space, large spaces like the living room and master bedroom do not need luxury or important decoration because they are usually placed in the best part of the house, having the best Natural light and landscape.
