Villarci is a classic and spacious villa located on the top of a mountain in the Bogor region of West Java, Indonesia. It embodies a thoughtful use of unique natural values while embracing the stunning and awe-inspiring scenery of Mount Sarak and the vast terrain of the site itself. Motivated by the unique quality of the surrounding environment, the client chose this site as a family vacation spot and was even willing to postpone the planning of his Jakarta residence, which was also designed by GeTS Architects.

The project aims to create a secluded family villa that blends in with the landscape, capturing a panoramic view of the exterior and interior surrounding the venue. Villarci built by understanding and respecting the slope of the land: effectively taking the building as part of the landscape and effectively using it as a functional and habitable place. A light white rectangular body with a thick arch with a long outer archway that sits harmoniously in the surrounding environment as it is designed to complement the location. It rises gently above the contour, becoming an important reference point.

Since the terrain is still lush and unexcavated, it is not uncommon to encounter wildlife such as snakes, eagles, scorpions near construction sites. The client used his vast and fertile land to further pursue his interest in agriculture. In addition, tropical mountain aromas such as breezes, wetlands, and greenery penetrate harmoniously to create a captivating experience. The current situation, including unstable weather, sometimes very hot or foggy, provides a different view of the background of the house: in hot and dry weather, the mountains are clearly visible, but in cloudy and rainy weather it is shrouded in mysterious fog. Villarci creates a unique style by balancing human scale, building shape, and connection to place.

Architectural diagrams show adherence to simple form. The light white rectangular body, thick arches with long outer archways — though aesthetically representative of contemporary updates — are also conducive to air circulation, shading from internal openings, outdoor shading in heavy rain, and most importantly, a relaxing space and social interaction. It becomes a powerful visual anchor for the surrounding natural landscape. On the other hand, choose contrasting black solid stone carvings with subtle differences from the boggy Dutch colonial buildings, preferring stone carving materials, and as a natural background transition for the villa.
