Located in a residential area of Hokusetsu, Osaka, the house is located on a narrow site with different ground levels. The customer is a chef of Japanese cuisine and requires the use of various traditional Japanese decoration materials. Efficient use of the different ground levels of the site offers different views and a wide variety of spaces.
The entrance can be accessed from a corridor planted with plants on the right, and then follow the stairs to the floating building. THE SITE BOUNDARY RETREATS 1.5 METERS, PROHIBITS CONSTRUCTION, AS A GARDEN BELT. By making it visible from the living, dining, and kitchen spaces on the first floor, FujiwaraMuro Architects gives this limited space a sense of expansion and diverse vision.
The sunken living room on the first floor serves as a space for guests, and benches offer garden views that extend down to the stairs. FROM THE INSIDE OF THE ROOM, THIS STREAM-INSPIRED GARDEN LOOKS LIKE A LONG WAY TO GO. Two small courtyards are located between the living room and the more private kitchen and dining area. A corridor runs through the garden, reminiscent of the garden path, overlooking the garden and the sky, leading to each private room on the second floor. These three gardens provide depth and breadth to the house.
