Set amidst pine forests and rice fields in Comporta, Portugal, the beachfront villa is nestled in a sand dune with beautiful natural scenery and a wealth of animal and plant resources. Central to the inspiration is the area's desolate and wild beaches and the reproduction of dunes and vegetated environments.

The project consists of two sheer volumes with great transparency, around which one can appreciate the complexity of the surrounding nature. The bottom layer has a mass of wood, and the upper one has a mass of concrete. A terrace is built on the ground floor, allowing sand and dune plantings to also inhabit the social area, creating a completely enclosed outside-inside feeling.

To emphasize transparency and take the purity of this intention to the fullest, a single layer of concrete supports only two points on the volume limit, without central support, leaving the entire living room and kitchen free from the interference of the vertical elements of the structure, capable of striking the entire outdoor space connected to the pool and the internal terrace Open, making it almost imperceptible to define the internal and external boundaries.

The widespread use of outdoor plantings is a personal and natural way to bring nature into all areas of the interior, bedrooms and social areas, providing important contact with nature, and carefully selecting several local species that blend in with the building. The outdoor spaces of terraces, balconies and gardens are designed to emphasize naturalness, durability, and as a complement to the interior, with continuity between materials and designs from interior to exterior, which gives pine trees a sense of depth that extends along sand-planted dunes, carefully designed to surround a pool.
