As the first player in the Chinese billiards world to win a World Championship title, racer, new media personality, and broadcaster, Pan Xiaoting's constantly challenging personality gives her a different identity, but an undefined life flourishes everywhere. “If my life had been limited from the beginning, and I could see my head at a glance, I might not have become a billiards player, nor would I have won a world championship. It is because a trial and challenge that, unlike my fate, I might have done the same as everyone else, equates to an unexpected harvest.

The space in this transformation is a three-storey block house: one floor is a basement storage space; the second floor is a living room space where the walls have been waterproofed and discoloured in the renovation; and three floors serve as her own private space, which is also the focus of this design. The warm, sweet and dreamy childhood dream of Pan Xiaoting's first home in Shanghai was a space where she grew up, and the stories that happened here leave little traces in the space. Slowly over time, her inner desire to transform into a peaceful atmosphere of light conveying calm, creates a tranquil and beautiful living environment through the settling of time, the change of rhythm and nature. Space depends on the inner changes, presenting a radically different atmosphere, becoming the presence of “home”.

After a long time in harmony with space, every tree, every leaf, every flower around the space is filled with love and quietly spreads a beauty that is unique to the Orient, go in The human soul, infected with the soul.

The space before the renovation was divided into pieces, the functional mess, the furniture was too large, squeezing the space that should be abundant, and the space that did not match the current needs made the act of returning home even more difficult. So, after the reorganization of space, a space with an oriental Zen emerged, a feeling, and this was the state of life she wanted.

Tea room is a very oriental term, and the “old objects” embedded in the space add to the atmosphere, telling a story that will happen here and a story that once happened. Nan Liang in the Song Book notes: “Kirin, beasts too. Baikiki, Yunlin. Kirin is an auspicious god, the master is peaceful and long-lived.” A custom-made tea table with wooden carvings of the serpentine Kirin, a person who is able to excel in the metaphor of the Kirin, is also the expectation of life. Decorated in a corner, the Republican-era teak backrest awaits every stay in life. Simply, through traditional learning, become the philosophical core of life. Old furniture, old objects, plants, etc., insist on finding nature and truth.

The viewable, mobile, foldable screen offers the possibility of a variety of spatial variations — a quiet mode of solitude under quiet lighting, relaxing yoga, meditation, meditation, and romantic modes of wine and a movie with wine to switch freely in this space, allowing her to enjoy her time at home.

The huge balcony with glass windows is a special presence in this space, to introduce the natural scenery and bring the whole space into one, sofa area, fireplace, bedroom, office area are distributed one after another in the space, with air and sun spreading in every corner.
The hazy light through the orange windows, refracting the amber texture, linking the living room with the balcony, the colors sprinkled on the ground are a gift of nature to the space and an unexpected surprise of life. Day after day, with the food we eat, what we say, the tableware we use, the warmth we feel, and there is joy and sadness.

The space in the color of the paper is like a scroll, laying the space texture with a soft, smooth jade-like base color, with a hint of ink, and emerald and emerald colors appear in the form of accents. “I really feel like the whole house gives me a sense of freshness, a sense of wonder, a sense of vacation, and I feel very relaxed. At home, when we go on vacation outside, we often think, 'Oh, this place is beautiful, this place would be fine if it was my home, it would be nice to sit here every day, and I feel like it's here. The essence of the design is to simplify the house, to make the home a place for relaxation of the mind, fulfilling the functions, and better combing the space into a real state that is more suitable for living.
