The project is located in Tianhe District of Guangzhou, an old office apartment with a building area of 44 sq.m., shear wall structure. The owner of the case is an independent woman, and her personality has a profound impact on the final result of the work.

Design concept
Philosophie d'design

140 acres of detached living, after accepting owners' commissions and understanding the owner's situation, our first awareness was how to simplify this 140-flat space to both suit the female aesthetic and maximise the owners' freedom in space. The focus of the design is to present the owner with a space that is transparent and comfortable and free. In line with the values of the owners, we believe that too much “design” and styling is only for the sake of being tired of it and will not generate any value. The most basic feeling in that space is the focus we want to magnify.

In the final plan, the soft combination of the common area and the minimalist design of the overall space base make some dramatic clashes. The construction form of a light base, a dark cooking area, a quiet and quiet rest area combine to present the owner a house called freedom. 146 sqm of three-bedroom space, although the balcony is well lit, too many compartments not only obstruct the overall movement, but also block most of the light. Utilization is high, but the layout is complex without the main one. This is at odds with the simple freedom of transparency that owners want.

1: Open the overall space of the entrance hall and living room, move the public toilet to the inside. Ensure that guests other than the owner also have a separate toilet. Maximize circulation and openness of public spaces;

2: Modify the kitchen from the concept of space location, the concept of time, when cooking, sliding doors on both sides enclose the space, and can always accommodate it in the walls and cabinets, as another auxiliary motive for open space;

3: Change the previous room into a bathroom with master bedroom. The large bathroom adds to the well-being of the owner's daily life.

Livingrum

The whole house is designed without main lights, the living room with a height of 3 meters is cleared, and we have adopted an arched ceiling with a length of 4 meters. While we can place the air and ventilation of the living room completely above the ceiling, air conditioning can circulate in the living room through the front and back gaps in the arched ceiling. Sunlight enters from the balcony, with the effect of an opera house. On the choice of soft upholstery, our main sofa takes the form of modules, which adds to the feeling of extension of the living room. The unit sofa is chosen by the Danish Fredericia Corona lounge chair Corona as the core of the whole space drama clash.

restaurant
Dinning room

The restaurant and the kitchen are two parallel lines. There is a shear wall gap in the middle. Based on this clogged shear wall, we built the restaurant's dining cabinet and kitchen sliding doors to add a branch line to the original single south-north direction. Both meet owners' need for openness while providing spaces with inclusive social sharing attributes. The 80 cm diameter paper chandelier and the flimsy PALUDISR rope chair make a stark contrast in terms of size and material, while the 2 m 4 cassina miniature dining table can look uncrowded in a typical household and just fine in the owner's home.

Küche

The kitchen is located behind the dining cabinet and is in a parallel structure with the restaurant. Sliding doors on both sides ensure that the space is smooth enough, one side is the cooking area and the side is the washing dishes area. When family and friends have dinner, there are enough people working together in the kitchen.

Porch

The exterior of the project consists of two parts, along with an integrated storage area consisting of a wooden cabinet with a roof. The cylindrical base here is the drainage pipe of the attic, wrapped with wooden door panels, forming an architectural element in the space. The other side of the walkway is connected to the restaurant, where the active line is located, keeping the space vacant should be more difficult to decide than adding style or function. Wooden blinds carve the sun while guaranteeing the owner's daily privacy.

Master Bedroom
Master bedroom

The bedroom is a hidden entrance between the living room and the restaurant. The curved cabinet shape gives the bedroom a sinuous look. Calm and tenderness are the main melody of the sleeping space. The whole wooden cabinet is located at the end of the bed, the simple and cheerful arrangement of the bed makes the space look extra relaxed.

Badkamer

Move the wooden door as a partition between the bedroom and the bathroom, and the wall cutouts add to the connection and fun of the two functional spaces. Hollow stone effect rock integral forming sink. With woodwork, it forms an integrated functional area for washing and skin care makeup.
