Life and description of what is wrong

01. This is a home about change. A family of two brothers and great-grandmothers live in a total of nine people. Although most of the time only grandmothers live in this life, the house is lively when it comes to weekends, when the children's summer season. 400 square meters of space will allow both old and young children to enjoy themselves and take pictures of each other. Compared to a powerful image, a life scene with a high density of information, such as Pieter Bruegel the Elder's painting of rural life, seems precious in today's formatted living spaces. How to provide a stage for this rich life? Different shapes, scales, light shades and the way people live, we find opportunities for some change in the wrong sequence.

02. Hazai Village is located on the mountain front plain, close to the foot of the mountain. The main road through the center of the village rises up a steep slope as the height difference changes. From west to east, the whole village is bumped down by roads. In family memories, people stand on the side of the road cool on a summer night and look east and see Changping City, 20 km away. The base abuts this slope. The thing is towards 16 meters, and the maximum height difference will be close to 1 meter. The alley on the east side dropped more than half a meter from south to north. In our initial conception, we hoped that this subtle but continuous variation in pitch could be reflected into the new building space. This will be a morphological source of differentiation space.

03. The building faces the street and neighbors without exceeding the height requirement of 7 m 2 of the cornice, maintaining friendly neighborly relations. But look at the section, the volume is divided by two to three. It's like singing a four-beat drum with a three-beat drum. A series of interesting changes is born. The indoor space near the center of the venue is even higher. Those elevated sections sometimes turn into attics, sometimes turn into passageways on the roof, and sometimes turn into sunny family activity rooms under huge curtain walls. For these high spaces, we also chose the slender and tall maple as a backdrop for life. Combining the height variation of the first floor brought about by the sloping terrain, we get a series of rooms with different heights. So in terms of plan layout, we did not adopt the centralized layout commonly used by other neighbors, but placed the building blocks in the middle of the outdoor courtyard between the south and north sides of the site. The relatively small room deepens, providing as much lighting and south-north ventilation as possible. There was a connecting section in the middle of the site, dividing the courtyard into two parts again, while the northeast corner was extruded into a third courtyard. THIS INDOOR-OUTDOOR COMPLEX LAYOUT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO SET ENOUGH BEDROOMS ON ONE FLOOR TO MEET THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES OF DIFFERENT AGES WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH THE MAIN PUBLIC SPACE ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

04. Among this series of public spaces, we have reserved an oversized open kitchen for grandma facing the yard, where the kids are away and grandma is here to eat. A set of fixed compartments separates the dining kitchen area from the main entrance. A walkway in a corridor is isolated on the other side of the kitchen. At the same time, the side cabinet also becomes the wall of the kitchen, which can be used to hang the TV.

Step on the third level to Ximai, where there is a sofa area for family guests, with plenty of sun to the south, and the sofa is made in two tiers, which is useful for children to recline. You can also chat and watch the movie here. The main restaurant is located in the central connecting section. To leave a larger courtyard, the main restaurant looks like a niche, with the shape of a large round table, nestled in the large courtyard. It will become the most lively place for festive dinners. Due to the relationship between the two floors, people who enjoy activities in the interconnected first floor public space can quickly reach the two-story large family room by climbing two running stairs up 2.4 meters. Large family rooms get the highest room elevation due to the submersion relationship of the bottom space.

With a maximum height of 6 meters under the ceiling, combined with a 3.6-meter high see-through glass elevation on the south side, above the tatami with an empty floor rack, this has become an unconstrained paradise for children. On both sides of the family room, two running stairs are arranged, one inside and one outside. The study room and the large balcony on the south side are reached via these two stairs. A sliding door is divided between the study room and the balcony, and in good weather, sliding sliding doors. It can be better connected indoors and outdoors. The large balcony opens to the south and is an area sheltered by the cornice, like a small outdoor living room. Before the works were finished, Grandma had already begun to plan how to plant flowers here. There is also a small entrance on the large balcony to the east, and there is also a viewing corridor with people looking at the house on the slope towards the far eastern side of Changping Castle.

05. It is an activity path that travels indoors, outdoors, semi-outdoors, filled with various corners of the house. These corners provide a wealth of spatial information density due to different situations. A rich and diverse collection of spaces linked to intimate everyday life is believable. If buildings can express and experience the reality of a certain kind of life, I guess that authenticity may lie in these details.
