Villa Cava combines luxury with nature. Located in the center of the Mayan jungle in Aldea Zamá, Tulum, Mexico. The villa was built by Espacio18 Arquitectura in collaboration with Adrian and Andrea, a young couple from Ottawa, Canada. Inspired by the magical Cenote Suytun of the Yucatan Peninsula, it captured their hearts and they decided to create a home that embodies the natural beauty and space quality of the area.
Villa Cava is a sensory experience designed to provide guests with a unique and memorable stay. The creation of the project aims to bring people together in a space that provides rest, inspiration and personal growth. The villa's architectural concept is inspired by the cenote, and the glass-bottomed pool provides natural overhead lighting. Luxury comes from nature and provides a link to the surrounding environment.
The villa has been carefully designed and blends in with the existing landscape. Building regulations and existing trees affect the silhouette of the house, while the jungle landscape is considered to ensure complete privacy. THIS BEASTER-INSPIRED FORTRESS IS MADE OF CONCRETE FORMED FROM LOGS AND SLOWLY UNFOLDED, REVEALING A CARVED SCULPTURE. Considering the humid and rainy climate and the possibility of hurricanes, the materials chosen are in harmony with the surrounding environment.
