Dune House is a luxurious beachfront villa in the village of Comporta, next to scenic rice fields and the mountainous Parque Natural da Arrabida.
The designer's idea is to create buildings next to the ocean, but respect the surrounding nature. During construction, the impact on the environment is small and not a tree is cut down. About 100 new pine trees were planted inside and outside the house, as well as more than 200 native plants. The result is to see the house completely surrounded by pine trees in a few years. Comporta Dune House covers an area of 400 ㎡ and is located on top of a sand dune.
There is a 60m long corridor and six symmetrically arranged rooms that can accommodate up to 8 adults and 6 children. There are also four indoor gardens in the design to bring outdoor activities indoors. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area overlooks the outdoor patio and basement pool.
