Casa TI has a 20-year history of abandonment. The first building permit dates back to 2002. It has been through several owners who aim to complete and inhabit the house, but there is always no success. In August 2018, a friend looked at the location and potential of the house and bought it. This house is located in the heart of Santo Tirso, Portugal, with an excellent location. Adjacent to the Aires Mateus call center, opposite Matadouro Park, bordered by a vast and beautiful agricultural reserve, becomes the landscape of the south side of the city.

It is a very solid concrete building, well designed from the point of view of technical space, but with many signs of erosion and destruction. This house occupies 444 ㎡ and is located in the center of 947 ㎡ land. Located at the edges and shadows of the garden area. The house is located on a sloping surface and its choice of level of settlement, below street level, results in a narrow garden periphery, mostly in the shade, so dark and humid.

From the architect's point of view, the facade of the house is too broken and too ugly. Doors and windows on the street level are linked together, losing definition, importance and hierarchy. The rest of the elevations have a large number of openings, the size and shape of which are difficult to prove. Towering between the street and the house, a beautiful structure built of concrete, it defined the reception space of the house, which seemed superfluous to us - it was demolished!

The interior of the house has an inspiring ceiling height variability. Internal space also seems out of control, but the potential is huge. In structures built of concrete, there is an iron suspension structure, which makes the setting lose uniformity. Square lanterns in the form of negative pyramids on the ceiling. In the kitchen space, there is a two-tiered high ceiling, there is an iron structure supporting the wall, while shaping the ceiling — the architect dismantled it to keep the space clean. The existing pool lacks clarity and its ceramic coating does not meet the designers' intention to simplify it as a necessity.
