STUDIOTAMAT has renovated a 120 square meter apartment located on the outskirts of Rome, Italy, called “Casa Rude”. The architecture combines the characteristics of the beast with the tranquility of nature. Carefully selected materials, such as perforated brick walls and terracotta floors, harmonize with the exposed concrete columns and beams inside. Multifunctional wooden cubes and handmade tables combine rugged aesthetics with modern elegance in the living area.
Under a bare concrete frame, the spatial layout of the living area combines the entrance, living room, restaurant and kitchen. The wooden cubes are prominently displayed, carefully hiding the food storage room, cloakroom and bookcase. Noteworthy unique furnishings such as portable studio desks and carefully carbonized Shou Sugi Ban desks enhance the quality of the space. The carefully designed compartment is made of perforated metal plates that separate sleep, characterized by the transition from resin floors to ceramic floors. This more private section includes a guest room, a master suite, and a bathroom.
