“MYOMYOYA” WONDER HOUSE
Wonder is more
Explaining the Concept Design Concept
This is a home made for children, full of fantasy and entertaining design that will surprise a home everywhere. Picasso once said he wanted to “paint like a child,” and “face graphics” have long been used as objects of painting by modern art masters, while representing the elaborate prototypes of robots, bean-eaters, and Mickey's Wonderland in contemporary entertainment. The symbolism of the face makes one feel more childlike, funny and kind.
This story epitomizes the concept of “wonder” in a playful way. While pursuing design logic and rejecting rationality, the seemingly “folksy” entertainment symbols are incorporated into contemporary residential design in a “collage” and “Dada” style creative pattern, revealing the stubbornly “functionalist” suite of housing by the absurdist irony and criticism. The complexity and contradictions of space can be seen.
Preliminary Analysis
The original house type was a two-room living room of 133 square meters with something facing the direction. The living room is poorly lit, and the 44-square-meter living room space is actually dimly lit by just a 3-square-meter west window. The communal property kitchen is squeezed into the corner near the north side bedroom, resulting in a weaker relationship between the restaurant and the kitchen in the distance, with the kitchen crossing the transport path of the two bedrooms. The toilet is located at the junction, but the bedroom is at the innermost. It takes two turns from the bedroom to the toilet. The cable distance is 7.6 meters long. Such an original layout also makes spaces that are always in a state of confusion with moving relationships.
After remodeling, move the living room as the central public space of the entire residence and integrate a spatial planning strategy for discrete isolated functional areas, so that the entire space will receive efficient rational lines and relatively uniform natural lighting. Spatial organization is associated with other areas around open central public spaces. The central space overlays diverse uses such as living rooms, restaurants, kitchens, entertainment, senior living, and abstract “face graphics” are a focal point in the open public areas, with a variety of changeable face shapes to adapt to different life scenarios. Through a smooth transition of arched walls to the open west kitchen dining area, the walkway continues to extend to the east side to the independent kitchenette, giving a cohesive functional layout integrated into the form.
Flowing Hallway
Entry-first vision, three arcs delimit the boundary between the internal space and the border crossing area. Consider the husband's frequent trips, the convenience of luggage storage, while trying not to disturb other family members with rest. The clothespin storage area is located near the entrance gate. A small storage room is designed separately to create a visual partition between the entrance and the master bedroom, providing protection for the private use of the master bedroom, and the double door design allows direct access to the bedroom. The “blue sky light” above the walkway opens a window to the gray ceiling, simulating the illusion of sky light, making the originally gloomy pediment transparent.
Chef Integrated Dining & Kitchen
The curved walls, moving smoothly from the gables to the central space of the dwelling, face the central visual symbol of the space, the “large scale abstract face”, which forms the focus of life and vision. The vertical interface creates morphological tension due to the arched gray ceiling and corresponding floor covering, making it appear more open and bright with eastward three-sided lighting guidance, extending the width of the corridor to both sides of the restaurant. By taking advantage of the enclosed kitchen balcony, Central and Western cooking can be separated. THE OPEN WESTERN KITCHEN IS INTERCONNECTED WITH THE RESTAURANT, WHILE INTEGRATING MANY HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES TO FORM AN INTEGRATED FAMILY SERVICE AREA.
Fun Symbols Fun Symbols
The abstractly illustrated “face” is narratively arranged in the daily lives of family members, symbolizing the concept of “wonder” in a playful way. “Face Graphics” simultaneously conveys fun and childish reality, creating scene interactions through the eyelash device, adding a fun focus to life and creating a symbolic symbol with uniqueness.
Multifunctional Living Space Multifunctional Living Space
As a flexible and open living space, the center space overlays a variety of everyday functions such as dining, guests, entertainment, office, storage, and temporary residence. Within the boundaries of space, designers do not continue to add restrictions. The placement of functional parts such as dining tables, sofas, coffee tables and more can be flexibly adjusted in an open space. The sofa faces the east side of the children's room and will get a free entertaining space. Use the window corner of the living room as a guest bedroom for a temporary stay. A movable door hidden in the hallway of the children's room separates the guest bedroom area from the living room.
Eyelash Installation in Children's Room
The design of the children's room takes into account the situation of the family structure and the future. The 1.5-meter double bed gives the aunt room to stay and sleep with the child. The open state of the mouth can add more light to the living room and achieve complete privacy after closing the curtain. The 1.3 meter single bed offers more living possibilities for the arrival of two children in the future. Eyeliner devices correspond to the location of the overlay, and children can manipulate the device to open the “Eyelids” and interact with a fun scene outside the room. In addition to interactive entertainment, the eye device can also indicate a person's attitude changes, the eyelids open, indicate the behavior is in an active state, the eyelid closes, and hints at bedtime from the activity.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is changed to the original living area on the west side, and 3 square meters of floating windows light up the entire bedroom space. The sliding door to the master bedroom is hidden on either side of the wardrobe and is joined to the cabinet. The line from the master bedroom to the bathroom is also more direct, with a shorter distance of 7.6 meters from the original to 3 meters.
“Cat Toilet “in the Bathroom
The bathroom is placed in an arched wall next to the pediment, and in order to shorten the distance reached by family members from each space, the direction of the door is changed to direct. As a member of the family, the convenience of hygiene can not be ignored by nature. Taking into account the separation of convenient cleaning and odors, a cat hole was opened in the curved wall, giving the pet an independent traffic route. The cat room is set inside the bathroom cabinet under the bathroom sink, reserving the functions of a cat litter box and a food dispenser, and a ventilation system is added. A decent solution to the basic hygiene needs of people and pets.
