The Alexander & CO team injected new life into Pacific House and redefined self-consciousness, reimagining the existing home of the 1990s. Alexander &CO connects original forms through a more thoughtful response to the surrounding environment, anchoring spaces and enriching everyday experiences through active textures and fun forms.

Pacific House's cliff-edge arrangement of Sydney reflects its unique location, bringing it back to life through alterations and additions. Originally built in the 1990s, most of the brick structure of the house still exists, but a new planned overlay is required to embed the structure. The designers retained the core elements, and both exterior and interior were redesigned to add to their owner's story and better connect to the surrounding environment, further opening up and emphasizing connected living. Through drying and remodeling, Alexander & CO strikes a balance between contemporary and existing, hard and soft, structured and decorated.

The expressive use of stone is combined with warm wood elements, all of which are combined through careful craftsmanship, taking into account every touch and moment of engagement. While some elements age over time, especially in places close to the ocean, others are sturdy and serve as the backbone of the family. A display of furniture, artwork, lighting and collectible treasures make the original hard shell soft.
