Located in the coastal area of the Brazilian state of Sergipe, this villa was originally designed for vacation, but soon became the main residence of the family.
With the help of Coletivo de Arquitetos, the choice of the site prioritizes a location where no neighbors can block the free access of ventilation inside the house, the most important prerequisite for effective thermal comfort in the region of the country. Its implementation is defined as two blocks: one body block covers almost the entire function of the house, the other block is connected to the first block, made up of a polygonal plate, which contains the food area, service area and garage. The main block has two internal functional volumes (like a shelter in a shelter), both of which have an intimate nature and are separated from each other by the social functions of the house, which consists of an integrated kitchen, restaurant and living room.
The presence of solid red brick is very prominent and is used in various ways and in different situations, as a sealing, floor or shading element. These materials, along with the predominant white color on the wood and walls, permeate the entire building and over time create a lasting and easy to maintain condition.
Movable blinds are used to filter the sun's rays and also as a seal for the villa. Their permeability helps maintain ventilation in homes, even when closed. The landscape penetrates into the interior and exterior areas of the villa and develops in different ways depending on the selected species. Along the front, species with low water requirements and adapted to drier and sunny climates were chosen. In the interior and rear of the villa, the species forms a garden with a more tropical character, which helps to design permanent spaces and the transitional relationship between interior and exterior.
