Felipe Pantone｜13 million pieces of colorful mosaic renovation villa pool in Spain

More than 13 million mosaic pieces made by the Spanish brand Onix, each tile is carefully arranged. When empty, this pool looks like an 8-bit prism rainbow digital reflection. However, this magic happens when you just add a little water. These seven strikingly different hues, including blue, yellow and red, were chosen to form the “ever-changing rainbow that mesmerizes the eye through the movement of water” described by Pantone. As his ideas simulate the collision between the past and the digital revolution, Felipe Pantone's work typically uses prisms, geometric shapes, optical patterns, and jagged grids of neon gradients. His work often “evokes a spirit in which humans and machines inevitably go wrong together.” Pantone's creative process often relies on computer programs to transform complex patterns into tangible works of art.

Pantone reminds us “as a shining reminder that art has no boundaries and can turn even the most ordinary space into an extraordinary experience.” The resulting pool, much like the dark side of Pink Freud's Moon album, shows the lyrical interplay between science, technological progress, mysticism, and the consequent ephemeral feeling.
