This 600 ㎡ gallery-like villa is located in Brasilia, Brazil. The interior has five large beams that make up the central area of the villa — the gallery — with a 12-metre-wide roof span — where most of the family's paintings are collected. It is a comprehensive space that brings together a variety of functions such as living room, restaurant, kitchen, balcony, garage etc.
The glass side and frame are protected from excessive sunlight by a wall suspended slightly above the floor, and the wall is supported by the same columns on one side of the main beam. It has the function of blocking direct afternoon sunlight during the hottest times, although the free space between it and the frame where the open garden resides allows indirect natural light to enter. In addition, the rear of the frame and roof protects the rest of the space from direct sunlight.
The plan is divided into two main parts, interspersed between two uncovered linear gardens. The first one is close to the street, located between the sunshade wall and the central living area frame. The second garden separates the social area and the gazebo from the residential rooms.
