Casa Flectō is a minimalist residence in Cervento, Colombia, designed by 5 Sólidos. The villa is a sculptural work that uses light to connect with the surrounding environment through reflection. Conceptually, it establishes a dialogue between concrete materials and fuzzy atmospheres, while awakening the user's senses. Although the arrangement of loose volume looks arbitrary, it is also consistent.
It becomes a life experience through the fusion of flat and curved features. The volume of a building object, the user, and natural and artificial light are all designed to move with each other as they are used. Concrete is responsible as a foundation and structural frame, maintaining space without sacrificing ventilation emphasized by its full surface and curves. Similarly, concrete establishes itself as a scene constant in space, as a background for reflection. The components that make up complete spaces are not just created for their aesthetic or stylistic expression; each is specifically for its location. FOR EXAMPLE, SHADOWS, ANGULAR SHAPES, AND LIGHT FROM THE SKYLIGHT ABOVE ATTRACT PEOPLE'S ATTENTION TO SPIRAL STAIRCASES.
