Perched on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea, this villa offers breathtaking views of sand dunes, thistles, sea water and sky. Designers and clients alike understand that design should enhance the feeling of originality and untouched, so designers choose to use minimally processed materials and natural finishes: concrete, stone, and brass. The rustic — even Yanggang — material ages elegantly in the near-salty ocean air. The central element of this space — the center of the villa, connected to the different living areas — is a 12-meter-long bookcase made of brass plates set in vertical columns of hollow stone. The designers designed a special brass air conditioning grille, located above the slab, designed to blend in with the column in a subtle way — to harmonize without attracting attention.
Both sides of the book wall are closed by a set of brass frame pivot doors with decorative glass panels. The study space includes several seating areas with Alto armchairs — Paimio #41 and Tank #400,都是 originals from the 1930s. Outside a set of pivot doors is an additional seating area that overlooks the sea. This space is simply furnished with only one Porro lounger, perfect for casual relaxation. It extends to the master suite -- which also has sea views -- which includes a walk-in wardrobe and a full bathroom. The entire area is set at the back of the study. On the other side of the study, outside the second set of pivot doors, are the children's bedrooms and rooms.
The color scheme of the villa is neutral, each shade and material is carefully selected after testing at different times of the day, while taking into account the strong influence of sunlight and sand on the color of the material. The homeowner's love of art and antiques, attention to detail, and carefully selected furniture make this house full of personal charm and soul.
