Casa Roca is a minimalist resort villa located in Lake Yosemite, California, USA, designed by PPAA. The villa is designed to capture the magnificent views of the adjacent national park, the design concept of which is centered on the visual connection with the external environment. The layout of Casa Roca has been carefully designed to ensure that the living space faces the most enchanting scenery. This is achieved by carefully placing openings throughout the structure. THESE OPENINGS HAVE A DUAL PURPOSE: THEY ALLOW THE INTERIOR TO BATHE IN NATURAL LIGHT AND CREATE A SEAMLESS BLEND BETWEEN THE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR NATURAL WORLD.

In the center of Casa Roca, an outdoor area has been formed that provides residents with a shelter to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the natural environment. A notable architectural feature is the roof, the slope of which coincides with the neighboring mountains in interest, increasing the organic fusion of the house with its environment. The palette of materials at Casa Roca was chosen to blend well with the mountain landscape. On the outside, dark wood is used to integrate the structure with the environment, while on the inside, it adds a sense of warmth. Other materials such as stone and concrete are also used, enhancing the natural feel of the house. The terrace is not covered, and the three large rocks in the surrounding area further strengthen the link with the natural rock surface.
