In the Jubilee Hills of Hyderabad, India, the local multidisciplinary practice NaAV studio designed this eye-catching family home that blends traditional Indian design elements with contemporary aesthetics. The client is from Hyderabad, a family of four, belonging to a prominent business family. They lead simple lives and are passionate about travel. It has an impressive collection of antiques, especially brass handicrafts.
Set atop the rocky terrain of Jubilee Hills, this 940 ㎡ villa offers picturesque views away from the bustling city. Surrounded by greenery, it is located at the end of an alley with a tranquil atmosphere. In terms of architecture, this villa combines traditional Indian design elements with contemporary aesthetics. THE USE OF CONTRASTING COLOR BURSTS AGAINST NEUTRAL BACKGROUNDS CREATES A DYNAMIC INTERACTION OF SHAPES, TEXTURES, AND MATERIALS. One of the uniqueness of the villa is that it uses the existing pillars of the structure to increase the height of two floors.
NaAV studio selects a wide variety of materials, including a variety of wood, metal and stone, to be the focal point of the space and showcase their unique features. The floors are made of Italian marble for a luxurious and timeless look. Designers used whole blocks of stone and intricate brass plates as wall art installations to add depth and texture to the space, and installed brass tubes on the balusters. In certain areas, designers use brass plates as a pillar covering, which further enhances the atmosphere of the space.
NaAV studio also combines wicker with different patterns to create unique shutters for consoles, partitions and other elements. This gives the space a unique texture and warmth, while also complementing the other materials used in the design.
