Is she purely functional?
Of course not
I use “her” to describe the space
“She” is a spiritual retreat
—— Zeng Rong
Everyone has a slightly different understanding of life, home to resident (here we are not talking about family, because the concept of family is facet), we only look at the residents themselves, real high-frequency users, what exactly are their actual needs for space? Party A is an elderly couple who live together. The interests of the family are dominated by the mistress, and the needs of the husband are liked by the mistress. The only daughter is away in Hong Kong and comes back for more than a week at the top of the year. The designer made a bold change — four living quarters turned into one.
Designers are exploring the issue of so-called utilization. The life structure of an elderly couple is mostly about enjoying the next time in life. Invite friends to your home as guests, drink afternoon tea, and talk about strange and interesting things that each of you have encountered, it becomes a daily routine. The dining table in the restaurant becomes the center of the whole space, everything surrounds the restaurant. The designer placed the restaurant in the middle of the house, taking the most spacious and well-lit location, combining the functions of a living room, a multifunctional leisure area, a kitchen, a balcony and more. The structural essence of living space is life, and in addition to oil and salt vinegar, there is also the placement of emotions. Eliminate superfluous, extravagant decorative looks and create a living scene in the simplest of ways. The hostess loves everything clean, loves to hide everything superfluous devices that can hide. Her spiritual world is clean, pure.
What life gives her is: to have experienced all the bustle, to experience the aura of youth, to have enjoyed many substances. Returning to her ultimate home, she just wanted a small nest, quiet and simple. Life is not just to live, but to build a spiritual retreat for oneself, for the peace of the pure mind. Space and space should be open rather than closed. For a living space for two people, apart from the bedroom, the rest should be moved freely to satisfy the inner spiritual freedom.
The essence of the minimalist life is storage, and behind the storage is the dissociated attitude of living. At times, saying goodbye to your past self and embracing a new state of life requires more courage and thoroughness than the average person. When we learn to reduce our lives, all that remains is pure emotion. A glass of water, a magazine, a splash of sunshine is the past.
