In this bustling city of Guangzhou, more and more families are choosing to have pets, especially cats. For busy urban dwellers, cats provide not only companionship, but emotional comfort. This article will take you deeper into a 38-storey Guangzhou residential design project whose owner is a cat lover who owns 13 cats and is also an art collector. How to create a home environment that is both cat-friendly and showcasing the owner's art collection in a limited space is the core challenge of this design.
Design concept: Comfort and practicality at its core
The starting point of the design is to make both the owner and the cat comfortable in this home. The owner has 13 cats, which means that the design of the space takes into account not only human needs, but also the activities and lifestyle of the cat. We reduce homeowners' household burdens and create a free, safe space for cats by reducing hygiene dead corners and increasing storage space.
Cat's paradise: the perfect combination of comfort and privacy
In this design, the needs of cats are put first. The cat crawler purchased by the owner fits perfectly with the color tone of the overall space, providing not only a comfortable space for the cat to rest and play, but also through the gaps in the wooden fence, which increases the interaction between the cat and the owner. In order to give cats a better living environment, we have designed a space for cats to play and isolate in the extension of the kitchen, which can be adjusted as needed, for example, to isolate them when the cat is sick, to protect the health of other cats.
The ingenious fusion of art and practicality
The owner is not only a cat lover, but also an art collector with many precious paintings and crafts in his home. Therefore, when designing, we pay special attention to how to maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the space while displaying these works of art. In order to avoid hygienic dead ends and increase space utilization, we have adopted gray art paint on the walls so that the visual focus is always on the painting. In addition, the cabinet in one corner of the hallway uses acrylic material as a transparent display cabinet to handle, which both adds fun and avoids the sharpness of traditional right-angle cabinets.
Smart Storage System: Making Housework Easier
In this design, storage space is an important consideration. By integrating the functions of shoe cabinet, storage room, water bar counter in one box, we form two areas of the restaurant and the entrance hall by integrating the functions of the integrated design. Cabinets throughout the district run from the balcony on the left to the kitchen on the right, providing strong storage capacity, meeting the daily life and cat needs of the owner, while also maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the space.
Bedroom Design: Comfort and Function
The design of the bedroom continues the tone of the common area, using wooden and cotton-linen bedding, conveying a feeling of comfort and relaxation. The direction of the bed in the master bedroom has been adjusted, which not only avoids the door to the toilet, but also adds an entire area of storage space. For the second bedroom, because the windows are designed with a bay window, the space is slightly larger, so we raised the floor level to the level of the bay window, making better use of the area of the bay window.
This 38-storey Guangzhou residential design successfully combines pet friendliness with artistic display, providing not only a comfortable living space for 13 cats, but also finding a suitable display location for the owners' art collection. Through ingenious space planning and meticulous design, this home not only meets all the needs of the owners, but also creates a warm and unique living environment for them.
