We are two typical introverted homes that stay at home most of the time. We also run our office at home, so we spend most of our time here. The goal of house design is very basic, wanting a secluded home with lush green plants in the yard as the center of the house, and a compact space that can meet our needs. Since the place is located in a dense community and there is no view, we try to create our own oasis inside the house. Passive cooling and natural lighting are also key elements to be incorporated into the design.
This two-story house is located in a dense and developed community. In order to block the busy street in front of the house, we tried to open the opening to the inner courtyard. Then, a meter-wide gate was left on one side of the house, which remained open all day, allowing air to flow through the house.
Since most of the time is spent here, we want to create a calm atmosphere and space where you can enjoy all day. Want to get in touch with nature, even in a city environment. A large opening in the main yard lets light through the living space and passively cools the house all day long. The trees and wooden shutters on the skylights above the stairs cast a mottled shadow, which creates a different feeling of light at different times of the day and at different times of the year. The materials chosen for the building elements are mostly bare and natural, such as bare concrete, cement breeze blocks, wood and pebbles. WE CHOOSE THEM TO BLEND IN WITH THE GREEN PLANTS OF THE LANDSCAPE AND BECAUSE THEY ARE LOW MAINTENANCE AND CAN BE USED FOR A LONG TIME.
