The most recent project is located in Beijing, a four-storey villa with an area of 300 ㎡. The landlord is a handsome young male actor who loves photography and music every day, loves everything simple and thoughtful, and his vision for home is to survive simply and be creative. It didn't work with our design ideas at this point, so we were found to make a makeover. The original layout of the house is relatively square, with the living room and restaurant on the left side, the pediment and living room on the right side, but due to the fact that there is a patio donated by a developer in the center of the building, this leads to insufficient space permeability. So we decided to partially open the patio, making the space brighter, spacious, and achieving higher utilization.

One floor after removing the patio is divided into two large activity areas, on the right is the living room with guests and the attendant, and on the left is the open dining kitchen area. The division of space has become clearer, not only has lighting been greatly enhanced, but also a stronger sense of space. Beige walls combine wood, black, and stainless steel throughout to give the whole design a whole, but these colors are presented in different proportions in each space, making everything surprising. The texture of the art paint, wood grain and swordtail create a tranquil atmosphere. Stainless steel and glass have a touch of industrial flair. The overall tone strikes a delicate balance between rough and soft, making one feel rich and natural. Gansang has designed shoe cabinets and lockers, where you can place small items such as keys, door cards, etc. at your fingertips on top of the small cabinet for placing shoes. The minimalist cabinet door surface is brushed with the same artistic paint as the wall for more holistic. An abstract contemporary painting of lines makes this small corner interesting.

From the entrance to the living room, you can first see the inset book wall, which is symmetrical to each other, where books, plants and decorations from the man's collection are displayed. To prevent deformation, square steel is used inside the partition, which is very stable. The built-in light strip also provides illumination at night to fill the atmosphere around. The surface of the book wall is still brushed with beige paint to match the color of the wall material and the surrounding wood. The height of the bookcase is the same height as the beam on the left and the doorway on the right, also for greater completeness.
Coming to the center of the living room, you can see that the whole house pursues minimalism, but without a lack of visual levels, hard on the streamlined lines, leaving enough space for the fabric area of the sofa area to play. The design initially took into account the style that men tend to be calm, minimalistic and quality, so in a soft color scheme, a full set of black sofas was chosen, minimizing the splashes of color as much as possible, and better magnifying the features of the shape and material, making the details more pressing.

At the same time, all the furniture here can also represent the character of the owner, such as the black three-seater sofa, which looks like three separate single chairs stitched together, with less laziness and more refined character. Two other single chairs from the master, with a classic design, also make the space uncluttered. The smoky glass coffee table looks hard and strong, and the shiny glass surface and the rough swordwood carpet on the floor create a subtle and rough contrast. Floor lamps with multiple lamp shapes look very tense in the space, with a touch of minimal dullness, the texture of stainless steel and black are better matched.

A stainless steel shelf is also placed behind the sofa, which responds to other stainless steel elements in the space, visually isolating the two spaces without affecting the vision. In order to keep the materials inside the space from causing too much clutter, the whole house uses stainless steel handles, sockets and switches and sets them all at a height of 1m. Because these points are located below the horizon, there is a visual effect of pulling higher and higher. The one-story valet is not designed for use in the living room only. The bathroom without a shower area boldly uses a wooden finish, and at the same time the texture of the living room looks more cozy. The black tiled washbasin is textured, the metallic mirror and the faucet match, and the slim, long mirror makes the height appear higher. The open kitchen is based on black, with black cabinets and hanging cabinets nestled in a black frame. Like a picture frame, the sink and partition are framed in the middle, while bringing a strong visual impact, highlighting the minimalist cool.

In front of the cabinet is a black island table made of rock, which responds to the background of the back. The three bar stools are vintage chairs in Concept 101, and the soft leather cushions feel great. The top of the kitchen and the living room have a wooden finish, which, in addition to being more holistic, looks more cozy. On the opposite side of Shimadai, a set of tall cabinets is designed, with an oven, refrigerator and electrical cabinets embedded inside. Looking at the living room from here, you can feel the smooth transparency, as well as the unity of material and style. The round dining table is custom-made with hollow stones, the three legs are interesting in shape, the white flying saucer-shaped glass chandelier is warm as jade, and the black dining chair has a very artistic touch. To make it feel natural at home, tall lilacs and marigolds dotted around the corners are specially selected, and the plants come to life when the light comes through the textured linen curtains.

The staircase in the middle of the living room, like a sculpture, is a highlight of the design, which runs from one level to four, extends the materials of the ground and the top, while being uniform and changing with a sense of rhythm. Walking through it, you can feel a wonderful sense of flow. A chair made of black metal material is placed next to the stairs, where the fine lines and the block of the staircase collide and bear a strong decorative effect. The lighting of the entire staircase is achieved by floor lamps on the stairs, without lamps arranged at the top, so as not to spoil the integrity of the stairs. As you ascend the stairs to the second floor, the right is the master bedroom for the husband, and the left is the guest bedroom prepared for occasional visitors. At the same time, dry and wet separation is achieved in the bathroom layout.

The layout of the main bedroom is more interesting, and the bedroom, the three parts of the bathroom, and the two open doors, respectively, form a central axis symmetry and a sense of order. The bed is in the center of the bedroom, because the back is designed with a hinged backboard, so the whole forms a “moving line”. From the outside into the room, the backboard is covered, giving life a certain privacy. The bed has a storage function, and sockets and switches are set on the side wall of the striped niche, making it easy for homeowners to charge and put things on the go. Opposite the bed does not choose a traditional TV in the wall, but a movable scenic TV is arranged in the corner, which maximally guarantees the totality of the wooden finish and also satisfies the needs of husbands who occasionally watch TV. There is a double-open invisible door on the left hand side of the bed, the surface of the door is brushed and the walls are painted in a consistent color for more completeness. And after pushing through two very ceremonial doors, you enter a space like a wooden box. After the original patio was filled, the space was incorporated into the master bedroom, so this became the man's dressing room. The L-shaped floor wardrobe hides the handles and blends in with the floor and ceiling. The small cabinet next to it can be used to store small items such as ties, watches, jewelry and more. A large area of light wood does not seem oppressive to the space, giving a feeling of infinite tenderness.

The bathroom has three separations, in the middle is the dry area for washing hands, on the left is the shower room, on the right is the toilet, the wall material is micro-cement, and the same color as the wall paint, giving it completeness. Bathroom cabinet with black stone countertop and black paint cabinet door. In addition to the light strip design on the countertop, the wall is decorated with a stainless steel round lamp to enhance the texture with small details. Some wall paintings and furniture with an artistic feel were also chosen if they were functional. For example, a white highchair with an interesting shape, which is different from a regular chair, is placed in the corner and gives a feeling of art. White is more elegant than black, combined with yellow paintings and full of style.

The guest room has chosen a deep beige color for the walls, warm tones combined with a large area of wood to create a feeling of comfort similar to the master bedroom. The attendant also implemented a dry and wet partition, and the dry area is located near the window, where you can enjoy the view outside the window at any time. A single-sided full-body mirror can be fully mirrored at the same time, with the effect of enlarging the space. The wet area separates the toilet and the shower with glass, so that the toilet area does not stagnate. At the same time, microcement painted walls and stainless steel door frames keep the whole project unified. The three-story space is designed for the master's sister's bedroom and cat house. The layout of the bedroom with bathroom is in line with the bedroom of the main character on the second floor. It is also connected to three separate bathrooms. The space continues the beige art paint from the previous space, but the difference here is that the whole space is well lit by large windows on both sides. So with a soft white curtain in combination with a linen curtain hanging in front of the window, just one layer of white curtain during the day guarantees privacy, light enters, and creates an atmosphere of flowing fairies. A blue painting adorns the background wall, better suited to the quiet atmosphere here.

This guest bedroom does not have a separate cloakroom, so built-in wardrobes have been chosen to store and look neat and tidy. A small dressing room was designed for her sister, which is naturally illuminated, and she can do her makeup here on a daily basis. The design of the bathroom continues the form of the master bathroom, which is still simple and pure in black rock with black lacquered cabinet doors. Since the owner is very fond of cats, he made a cat house on the third floor using a lot of space. The stainless steel door frame combines a large area of glass to clearly see the state of the cat's activity in the room. The wooden top, floor and cabinet also match the style of the rest of the space. The washbasin outside the cat house is convenient for cleaning the owners' food utensils at any time, and the cupboards on both floors above and below can also store their food and litter. The basement video room is focused on video and entertainment, without much change in structure, just an extra bedroom. For a better effect in the video room, black wall paint was chosen to create an atmosphere that isolates the hustle and bustle. Black is also the main color of the space, and the combination of wooden floors corresponds to the whole situation. Only local light spots are arranged on the paintings and walkways, and in sufficient atmosphere, the light is full of levels.

In the center of the space, a black caterpillar sofa was chosen, which is cozy and adaptable to the overall tone of the space. The TV cabinet also opted for a black cabinet to match the overall black tone, but also to allow the man to have an immersive experience while watching movies or playing games without being distracted by excessive decoration. In addition to entertainment, husbands also like to play the piano in their free time. So we designed a portico in the corner that looks like a window with light strips embedded inside to create a better atmosphere. All design details follow conciseness and whiteness, maximizing the perception of light shadows and materials, enhancing the perception of a happy life.
