In Taipei's sprawling cluster of buildings, North Seagull designed to capture a glimpse of the window in the dim sky, steal the city's tranquility and enjoy the lights, and write a boundless space for imagination for this 3-storey mezzanine apartment. Walk into a five-door multi-storey apartment and, compared to the noise of the people outside, feel as if you were climbing into a relic castle. In the soft space, the meandering curves are like a faint whiff of smoke, turning upwards and imperceptibly pulling open the sky, like a blue sky uncut by a high-rise, filled with pure dreams, like a childhood memory.

Faced with the simplicity and texture demanded by the landlord, the design recreates the essence of the home, connecting the first-floor public area with the master bedroom, the second-floor castle belonging to the child, the secret loft on the third floor, and the simple and light embellishments that support the endless conversation around the manhole.
The case was co-created by Kitamo Design and White Design. Although the two brands design concepts are complementary, North Ox focuses on soft furniture, while White focuses on hardwood structures, and the unchanging consensus of the two is that following the homeowner's lifestyle, create an “oasis in busy times”; Regardless of its spatial outline and soft hardware, everything in the house is designed around lighting, interaction, emotion and comfort.

In fact, the house has problems with wall and floor slopes, large stair stair gaps and poor lighting conditions. In order to improve the lighting in the house, designers started from between stairs, in compliance with regulations and structural conditions, to reduce the concept of retracting partial floors, reshaping the vertical plane of the structure, and injecting arched finishes, ENLARGING PATIO VISION, CREATING AN UP-AND-DOWN CONCATENATION EFFECT THAT CONNECTS VERTICAL FLOOR LIGHT TO BETTER MATCH LIFE AND FUN.

Accompanying the movement of the rotating staircase, the designers also used natural mineral paint to cover the entire staircase with a seamless surface, solving the low-rise phenomenon, creating a sense of openness, creating a light and simple background, reflecting the Nordic spirit of pure nature.
The architectural feel of the staircase is a sight in this space that is visible and the most difficult to overlook. To show the spatial dimension and speak naturally, the whole room is colored with a quiet, simple undertone, infusing the tranquil atmosphere of the “Museum of Art”, along with rich materials, colorful accessories and soft furnishings, creating a lively parent-child situation, while simultaneously transforming the previously idled balcony, while reinforcing the floor structure, making life truly alive Enter a city.
