This is a one-story apartment in the suburbs of Shanghai, with a one-story building area of 73m², a courtyard building area of 50m², and a basement building area of 35m². Due to the need for people to work abroad, the owners entrusted us with the design and supervision of the project construction. While the house is finished, go to work in Shanghai and take your mother to live in Shanghai.

Maintain the temperature of life

A wooden house with a courtyard and a basement creates a cozy atmosphere of peace and quiet space with the help of original materials, suitable for the residents themselves and a warm and homely atmosphere. The guest restaurant is located on one floor and has direct views of the courtyard. Due to space limitations, the design covers the original corridor area to the interior, while making floor windows. The atmosphere is like a room and creates an open interaction between the interior and the exterior. The owner's mother is a simple person who loves to read books, cushion needles, and wants to eat simply, sweet potatoes, white porridge, two meals a day. It also gives photographers a lot of inspiration when shooting on the scene, and there is also a lot of inspiration and thought about the lives of our young people.

A semicircular design of the ceiling on the space structure frees up the visual side of the space. At the same time, the arcs of the ceiling extend to the walls, forming semi-arched passages and doorways, and walls, tops, and floors extending endlessly in the field of view. WARM MAPLE TRIM PANELS WRAP THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURAL WALL, DISTINGUISHING IT BETWEEN WALLS, TOP, FLOOR, STRAIGHT WOODWORK, AND CURVED CEMENT SURFACES THAT CREATE ORDER AND MOVEMENT OF THE SPACE IN HARMONY. A wooden house with a romantic heart and a fireplace without complicated decoration is needed. A warm and textural design with soft wood colors as a base, perfectly conveys the temperature of the home.

Half Fireworks, Half Silence

Diesel-salt vinegar tea is the taste of fireworks and the essence of life. THE KITCHEN FLOOR USES CREAMY TILES, WHICH HAVE A NON-SLIP EFFECT, ARE SIMPLE AND PRACTICAL, SO THE SPACE IS MORE LEVELED.

Light Shapes Spatial Emotions

The original building's patio is preserved, and natural light is reflected through it into the basement. The corridor connects the reading area and the patio, enhancing the sense of space. The light leaves the reading area perfectly, while the L-shaped desktop is compact and highly usable.

Everyday Poetry

The lounge at the entrance to the basement, according to the spatial structure, is designed with an L-shaped floor combined with custom sofa cushions. The floor is unified with the ground material, adding visual extension. The original structure of the space was raised to the ground floor, allowing for a total of three floors up and down by isolating the mezzanine. Unlike traditional stairs and handrails, a misplaced escape passage staircase not only adds safety and fun to the space, but also enriches storage space. The sky is diffused and the atmosphere is calm. A wicker chair was placed on the patio to suit the owner's reading preferences, making the patio more relaxed and practical.
