The owners of this program are a couple of teachers returning from studying abroad in Europe, who have unique expectations for poetic living and a slow lifestyle. A special apartment house with an original floor height of more than 4m and a micro-arched window structure opens up the styling clues to this private house plan. We have refreshed the relationship between the linear body and the construction of space itself, avoiding the original constraints and reconstructing a rational construction logic.

First, we attenuate the dullness of the original narrow spaces by softening structural columns and top surfaces, hiding equipment, pipes, beams, wall panels, etc.; and second, we increase the visual level and interactivity of public areas through low-pressure user interfaces and the installation of attics. Once again, we use warm teak wood and rough polished stone to provide a sense of memory and the tranquility of time. In our design, we make the most of the structural relationships of the original space, untangling the relationship between the traditional living, dining kitchen and bedroom, and fully respecting the demands of the owners for a “simple way of life” and a “free spiritual world”.

We believe that the style of space does not need to be clarified. Modernism's emphasis on asymmetric freedom, extreme reduction emphasized by minimalism, or the “materiality, richness of spirit” emphasized by silently can be used to explain the essence of space's presentation. We prefer to emphasize the absolute rudeness and even roughness of the materials in the space and the smooth expression of the atmosphere of space. With me it is poor and without me it is abundant. The living environment we seek should be the best state in which we are united, independent of each other and coexist. Rationally combing the space and giving it a romantic poetry. WHETHER OBEYING OR RESTRUCTURING, IT COMES FROM OUR PRIMORDIAL RESPECT FOR THE NATURE OF LIFE AND PEOPLE.
