Located on the outskirts of the Spanish city of Canals, surrounded by olive groves and citrus groves, the villa is designed based on traditional typological principles that respect its location. The search for the integration of landscape and environment while respecting the rural environment is the result of determining the development of a project on a single level. Based on four prisms, designers managed to divide, organize and divide the external space. At the same time, each of them will contain and specify different internal uses. The gap area connecting the four body blocks serves as the vestibule connecting each living space.
The central core, the place where all the fragments gather, is concretized as a longitudinal volume, which faces south-north, opens to the outside through a large window, as a welcome canvas, where you can enjoy the view of the field. This spindle separates the house and organizes it on one side into two areas for daytime use, including the living room, restaurant and kitchen. At the end of the three blocks there is a porch, one with the function of a garage and the other two as an external extension of the living room and kitchen space. Each of them faces southeast, southwest, and northwest respectively, providing ample uses for indoor space depending on the time of day.
The pool was conceived as another volume, dug into the surface and connected to the house by paved areas and artificial lawns. The typical light and white rendering of a Mediterranean house will be the only material that contrasts with the typical earthenware of the place. The stone pavers are continuous from the inside to the outside, even in the pool, providing maximum continuity between the two spaces. In this way, the boundaries are blurred and the outdoor space is considered an extension of the interior space. The continuous white ceiling integrates air conditioning units and indirect lighting, audio and audiovisual systems. In short, the villa architecture adapts to the environment by occupying the surrounding environment and being able to use minimalist architecture with Mediterranean characteristics.
