When I first arrived, surrounded by bamboo groves, I looked outside and found a bend in the Bassac River. This is impressive. These atmospheres make us feel very relaxed. At that time, we realized that the design of this house needed to take into account respect for nature. Arranging buildings in such a way that their impact on the land is as small as possible, while making full use of it, is our design challenge.

This should be divided into two vertical sections with as much open space as possible to establish a connection between the house and nature. The two parts of the building also clearly divide the functions of each zone into public and private areas, but still have access to the courtyard. Most areas of the house can enjoy the greening provided by the courtyard, which also helps to link the two functions through its atmosphere.

This layout is conducive to functional utilization and preserves the land's greatest asset — nature. In terms of architectural design, horizontal lines are chosen as the main feature of the house. As you can see, the roof and terrace lines are parallel. It is not only beautiful, but also has a practical purpose due to its hanging, it provides a cool place for the terrace and allows it to be used all day. Overall, reduce the height of the house and contrast it with the surrounding tall trees to blend in with the wide lawn.

Large glass doors play a role in realizing this design intention, as they reduce the vertical line of the house, while also providing a good view from the inside. Another factor that affects the personality of the house is its material. We chose “gray brick” as the main material for this house, which is produced through natural manufacturing processes. From any angle of the house, gray brick walls are space dividers and focal points. Another material used on patios and exterior ceilings is artificial wood made from a combination of real wood and synthetic wood. It is easy to maintain while still providing a realistic touch.
