The dust of light, poetic habitation
When do designers start designing their own homes? How would he define home? When a designer is able to exercise infinite freedom, how would he describe his home? Works, emotional projections, or real life?
The only thing that cannot be divided from the earth is the building. My focus is on getting back to that land and connecting the building and the earth again.
—— Kumagu

“Pine Moon, Nanshan Mountain Crane Group.” This four-sided project, located in the mountains of Chongqing's Nanshan, is a secluded retreat and a return to mountain life, open to the mountains and away from the natural environment. Built on a mountainside, the mansion carries the quest and desire to “return to nature” long in prosperity and thus revisit the relationship between architecture, nature and people. The original appearance of the building is relatively flat, and the garden has not changed.

Therefore, in the design, the original structure is changed to the maximum extent, taking advantage of and exploiting the advantages of the natural environment around the house, using seasons, space, light and greenery in the yard, using contemporary minimalist methods of thinking, making the building and space stand out, and people fully interact with nature, pure water and water, the language of architecture flourishes endlessly.
The Maya Yang couple, who are designers, are both designers and residential experiences. This project combines two people's aspirations for the home and respect and analysis of the surrounding buildings and the natural environment to create a living space full of life, full of natural vitality.

Front Garden|Family with Light

Outside the residence is the main road in the area, and the original building was directly accessed from the side garden. The design changes the lines of the building structure and the movement of people, detours the entrance paths, enhances the building's lateral structure and sense of form, the structure has weathered the corridor, forms a horizontal structure in a thin building, increases the level and flexibility of the building, and makes it subtly integrated into the natural landscape. The corridors are composed of translucent glass and lines to introduce more light into the interior. Between the flow of light, draw the vertical and longitudinal depth of the building, block and line, facet and line, enriching the layers of the building and making it rich in life. On top of minimalist design, touching nature, reshaping the relationship of architecture with nature as much as possible, preserving original ecological plants, tall trees and trees is the best naturalism. The garden's original large trees and rows form an intersecting perspective. The interior and exterior blend together to create unique visual and natural art using the perspective method of Oriental gardens.

At the same time, the designers again highlight the natural fun by artificially creating landscapes based on the original natural landscape. Between the parking lots, replanting flowers and trees using native plants, nature unintentionally and richly changes in levels increase the depth of the landscape and the life of the yard.
In addition to composition, it also uses color and texture to organically blend the building, landscape and environment, transforming the exterior walls of the first floor building to form a simple composition of blocks and lines. Keep the exterior of the building in the same color as the garden and the ground, using the right low-saturation warm gray color to match the original color scheme of the building while forming a visual whole. Particle-textured lacquered walls, hand-textured lychee paving stones, and hand-chiseled natural stone steps create a natural feel to the details of the building. Turning the entrance into a two-step staircase, forming an entrance hall area, a seemingly unobtrusive landscape of fleshy plants in the corner of the staircase and an open view of the building lines, was a fun insert that the designer thought through. “I never leave a splash of sunshine or a flower, and my home should be a place of natural fun,” said designer Ma Ai-yang, expressing his love for nature.

INDOOR|NATURAL GROWTH

“The yard shall have water, and there shall be no more than two or three beautiful trees.” , is the hostess's idea of courtyard life. Minimalist courtyard, where a maple tree stands in the courtyard, is relaxed and cheerful after entering, using the remote mountain as the backdrop for the courtyard, interestingly matched with maple trees, ponds, and flower gardens, forming a miniature miniature landscape. The seasons are full of seasons, with a colorful maple (chicken paw maple) writing its four-hour landscape. In spring, it has lush green branches with small purple flowers, in summer it is green with green leaves, and autumn leaves are transformed into big red by a green gradient orange.

Maple, no longer just a maple

Enjoy the beauty of nature and tranquil living

At the corner of the fence is a date tree planted by the mistress, leaning against the fence, watching from a lemon tree not far away. In autumn, hanging on tired fruits, harvest natural surprises and gifts.

The interior walls leave a lot of white. Through leak-view treatment, the view is not limited by the building space. The interior and exterior of the building are connected. Sitting indoors can also be interested in the nature of the interior. Light shadows erase the traces of age through the leaves on the walls. Cut the leaves from time to time to brighten up life, meditate on the garden, and visit as you please. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE YARD, CLEVERLY PARTITIONED BY A WOODEN FENCE FROM THE NEIGHBORING SPACE, NEIGHBORING ROSES QUIETLY PENETRATE THE YARD, ADDING A TOUCH OF WARMTH, AND THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN PERSON AND PERSON ARE NO LONGER HARD. In the courtyard living area, the hostess has a childhood love for the wood stove, and there is a living kitchen in the yard, so there is an open-air wood-burning stove, a long dining table with BBQ, an enclosed sofa, etc. When the weather is nice, enjoy the sun with three or two friends, party barbecue, enjoy outdoor fun in the garden, the space brings a variety of experiences, and life has many aesthetic interests. The sunken area of the inner courtyard is a great place for friends to dine alfresco. When night falls, it turns into an open-air cinema space.

Shimojin | Relax

The sunken courtyard is built using a spatial structure to create a sunken courtyard, connecting the upper and lower spaces, giving the space a different dimension and bringing the whole building to life.
This is the owner's favorite part of the garden. The middle of the plant grows in layers, plants grow in layers, sun under the trees, chat with tea, create a place to live in a circular, relaxing place to live, both indoors and in the courtyard.
Next to the sunken courtyard, use the original stone castle, to preserve the original texture, form the space structure, make it simple, without unnecessary decoration, while preserving and respecting nature at the same time.
The entire courtyard space is decorated and decorated in different forms with mountain water and wood. Shallow ponds, blossoms, and wild dates create a feeling that changes with the seasons and the mood. The small landscape in Kaimin is peaceful and relaxing.

Indoor|Habitat for the Soul

Courtyard space, an extension of interior space, serves as an important visual component of the interior space. In this case, the designers did not overemphasize the decoration of the interior space, but rather wrote and thought from the point of view of the home experience, comfort, practicality, living functions, and so on. They wanted to be able to integrate more into nature and enjoy the fun of mountain life. The outdoor area is exposed at the shoe cabinet location to enlarge the view of the people, showing a distinct character in scale, light, scene and atmosphere. While considering plenty of storage, entry-level shoe cabinets, parcel lockers, utility areas, and logistics storage are all designer ideas for everyday living.

Opening one floor and one floor of the public event space as much as possible, fusing the commonality of the functional spaces, embodying the user's multi-dimensional lifestyle and embodying the transparency of the space, creates a flexible atmosphere of space. The main living room on one floor in an open structure enriches daily life with the three main function spaces of the living area, the western kitchen bar and the multifunctional tea room. Western Chef is a living space that homeowners love. The hostess often cooks breakfast here and chats with her friends at her discretion. The husband is also here to create, read, and enjoy the leisure and ease of family life while at work. Kung Fu Tea Space, where the husband also often writes calligraphy and reads. It is a completely self-contained venue, with bright spaces, warm wood, matching furniture, and the concept of home cleverly unfolds at the heart of the space. The addition of kittens adds more fun and leisure to your home life. A negative layer of space creates two sunken courtyards, opening up the space to enhance space permeability and air convection. The introduction of sunlight and rain enhances the connection between the basement and nature, making the basement space more flexible and natural.

The central communal lounge combines functional spaces such as guests, cinemas, drinking and dining. It is designed to link entertainment and leisure with catering logistics, in line with the theme of “home is daily life”. The L-shaped sunken courtyard space has a unique lighting structure that creates a wonderful natural harmony. The versatile tatami adds flexibility to the leisure experience. The owner is free to play music here. It is also perfect for relaxing after a cool summer afternoon. Along with the board area, the fitness area and the leisure area, the dining and kitchen area increase the dialogue between the people and the space, allowing those who come to this residence to experience the true face of home: whatever the experience, the expression of space, is full of poetry and warmth, and service to life. The hostess loves flowers and plants. She uses the space on the roof terrace to create a sunny flower room as a painting room. When the flowers are open, the space grows like plants in the mountains. For designer Ma Ai Yang, design, whether it's your own home or that of a guest's home. Designing a home is first of all organizing the current and future living needs of the occupant to design it according to the interests and aesthetics of life. Just like this mansion, the repeatedly pressed and edited garden, front and back yard, sunken courtyard, house combined with natural water, light, plants, mountains and trees in the distance, carefully build a level of ideal living environment. In the courtyard, with both a light and transparent form and a strong sense of volume, the designer built a place of pure connection with nature with his mountain residence, a spiritual return to nature, a sense of order circulates, and the mansion becomes an organic totality of alpine flowers and becomes a “cave heaven”.
