The concept of the villa's design is to “embrace nature”. The project's proposed origin is a simple volume characterized by a rectangular shape that is transformed to embrace the land area facing south and form a terrace. The project is divided into two floors, the lower level of the basement absorbs space for the garage and technical area, while the upper floor is used for social and private spaces. The entrance hall, four suites (one of which has walk-in cloakroom), kitchen and living room are directly connected. In the social space, there is also a public toilet and a storage room that supports the kitchen.
The entrance to the villa is located in the center of the volume, and the passage to it is characterized by a mysterious external path that highlights the presence of natural slopes, facing north, promoting privacy and highlighting the nature of the place. In fact, the entrance rests on an existing slope, conveying a conscious sense of visual funnel towards the entrance, while generating a sense of curiosity, that is, what will be seen after entering the house.
Once inside, it has a direct relationship with the patio on the south side and the warehouse belonging to the site. The whole program developed from there, which is an access point from the lower level to the stairs and a direct passage to private spaces (East/South) and social spaces (South/West). As a house embedded in nature, it is understood that it is important to absorb the robustness and unpretentiousness characteristic of exposed concrete structures made in the traditional way with nailed wood formwork. In contrast, the elements in gold metal are used to convey a sexy and refined feeling.
In order to maintain the natural and irregular organic contour of the land, the swimming pool is part of the building volume, so the floor of the first floor rotates in a south/west direction to promote the natural relationship between the living room and the area that makes up this outdoor space. The volume of the pool promotes a visual tension characterized by its hovering and attracts the “place” to a new auditory feature.
