The project is located in a rapidly developing area of central Grenoble, France, at the foot of the mountains, close to the train station and the edge of the railway tracks. The building is continuous in volume with two adjacent buildings: DP1 land (office building) and DP3 land (residential building). AQMA has designed a suite of open-air gazebo/terrace apartments that are connected to neighboring floors and adapt to the direction of the sun to ensure the best exposure of the living room.
The project (DP2 land) consists of 38 residential units with a total development of 7 floors. The volume of this project is divided into three storeys to seven-storey viewpoints/terraces. The different breaks in the building ensure the porosity of the vision and the landscape, which produce diversity of the elevations. The volume seems to be very cut and deconstructed to enrich the project.
The goal is to implement a simple and elegant design, highlighting the cut volume and spacious opening. THIS PURSUIT OF FRUGALITY AND ELIMINATION OF SUPERFLUITIES IS COMPENSATED BY MANY LARGE WINDOWS, WHICH ALLOW YOU TO SEE THE MOUNTAIN AND CITY VIEWS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. In this continuity of thought, the main body of the building consists of structural concrete, covered with a warm gray paint on top, which tends to red with changes in weather and exposure. To save material and durability, the windows are made of wood and aluminum with glass arches. Each apartment has a large balcony or terrace.
