Located in Puntarenas on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, Casa Patio is a luxury residential area in Playa Hermosa. The project is developed in a 1924 ㎡ property surrounded by gardens, set in a tropical natural setting, with the community surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west side.

The land is characterized by being flat with two slopes on both sides, separating adjacent plots. At its two main endpoints, one entrance faces a public street and the other offers views of the sea. The design area of the house is 800 ㎡, the purpose of the design is to create a main functional area with a private area, the layout of the social area is the lateral part of the main functional area, giving priority to the sea view.

The private function area on the second floor provides cover and shade for the first level terrace, the main social space that blends into the terrace, and the central courtyard containing the planted area for bioclimatic treatment of the area around the courtyard. The project sits east facing west, the main view is the sea, and luckily you can see the sunset. Enjoy the sunset with the sea with a full service area, a master bedroom, 5 bedrooms, and a large social area in the west.

The composition of the architectural scheme around the main courtyard gives this villa a feeling of freshness and transparency to the garden, blending the exterior with the interior, creating a feeling of “always sharing with nature”. Garnier Arquitectos calls the home's design “contemporary tropical” and the architects bring it into modernity while not forgetting the climate of Costa Rica and its location, using materials such as concrete, metal and glass, mixed with wood, clay bricks and plantings to soften the modernity and add warmth. In addition, these materials help to address the bioclimatic design throughout the project.
