Painting is a zero-to-one process, and it all starts with a piece of white cloth. There is a similar process in construction, although sometimes it is not starting from scratch, and it is often necessary to make subtractions first before adding, designers need to go back and forth. For painters, everyday and creativity are the most important topics. Two kinds of life need parallel and overlap.

The shape of the site is a rectangle that stretches towards the west, with a 40m long continuous glass window on the south side, and the entire one faces the Kowloon Waterway and Jiangxin Chau. The interior space is divided into three of the space by a symmetrical two-sided column shear wall, and the center of the space on the left and right sides is arranged with 1.5m cross-sectional columns. And the right side of the chimney is thicker, and its length is narrower than that of the nearest square, visually making the body feel the weight of its load. Structural instability is a core issue in design that requires digestion and organization, as well as an opportunity to deconstruct space uniformity.

Functions are arranged from left to right for studios, living rooms, restaurants, and bedrooms, and space attributes tend to be private from the center to the sides. The shear walls and pillars are completed in the form of a square when the display cabinet is set up. THEIR PLACEMENT FORMS AN OPEN ENVELOPE, PLANNING FUNCTIONS WHILE MAINTAINING THE CONTINUITY AND FLOW OF THE SPACE, AND THE MOVEMENT OF SPACE WILL BE AN EXPERIENCE SIMILAR TO THAT OF VIEWING IN AN ART MUSEUM. The layout of the mechanical and electrical equipment takes into account the correspondence of the ceiling height difference to the space edges, enhancing the sense of boundaries of each square space. The two axes of the balcony and the corridor reduce the height, directing the line of vision to the vertical and horizontal.

In choosing soft furnishings and paints, we strip them of their right to be the visual focus, weakening them as much as possible into everyday objects in space, allowing them to blend in with the structures in space, constantly overlapping to form geometric locales, motivating visitors to maintain dynamic observation as they wander. Therefore, paint and cabinet choices tend to be solid colors, and material selection is controlled in three types, avoiding the sheer amount of information that makes up the space from being weakened by sheer excess information.

We gave a degree of space dominance to the owners' artist persona and curbed the designer's desire for expression. The artist will redefine his private place in everyday life, and the space will continue to grow and evolve. As artists paint and create, homes and studios gradually transform into galleries.
