With experience and insight, Toorak Residence becomes a well thought-out villa with smooth space planning that achieves a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Located in the affluent suburb of Toorak, close to Melbourne's central business district, Toorak Residence occupies an important place in the surrounding architectural environment. Located in an area defined by large area, high fences and various design styles, the villa occupies more than 1000 square meters and has three spacious floors. Architecton tackled the Toorak streetscape in a dominant manner, defining the front of the property with a vertical, atmospheric fence. Even so, Toorak Residence seems different from its neighbours. THE ELEGANT LANDSCAPE VISUALLY SOFTENS THE EXTERIOR OF THE VILLA, INTERACTING WITH ITS MATERIAL AND STRUCTURAL DIMENSIONS TO CREATE A DETAILED PERSONALIZED DISPLAY.
Arriving at Toorak Residence, the entry process is carefully layered with details of the experience. Outside the front door is an informal garden space — a tactile combination of pleasant green plants — that effortlessly guides residents to the main entrance. Walking into the house, the design palette is introduced in an attractive way, and the main volume of the house disappears from view. A neutral-hued corridor extends from the entrance, showing the characteristics of glass and stone. As the rest of the spacious ground floor is exposed, an 18 ㎡ clear opening connects the large living room with the northern garden, making the latter a striking sight.
