This 30 ㎡ small townhouse was designed by Lo-Design, at the request of the client (a young girl), designer Olesya Leshchenko embodied the concept of a cozy grotto in the interior. The project is inspired by rock paintings found in the caves of Lascaux and Chauvie in southern France. The task of the designer is to combine wabi-sabi and Scandinavian styles in the project, creating a cozy interior decoration. “Closer to natural hues immerse you in the calm atmosphere of a vibrant modern world, while natural materials, relief surfaces and warm hues seem to take you into a place far away from urban issues, contemplating the sunset,” —Olesya Leshchenko
Given the limited space and budget, it is necessary to rely on features, consider partitions, but do not overload the interior. It's full of tactile textures—wool rugs, jute ropes that hide spacious storage areas, and embossed plaster on the walls. The floor mirror in the living room visually enlarges the space, and the wooden blinds create a beautiful light effect at different times of the day. There are no wall cabinets in the kitchen, and instead open wooden shelves make the kitchen lighter.
Due to the reconstruction, the apartment also has two spacious wardrobes in the hallway, as well as a bathroom with a separate shower and a washing area with a compact drying system. Decorative cords on the windows hide some of the columns and storage space, which are often lacking in small spaces. Decorative plaster on microconcrete floors, ceilings and walls creates a single, expressive background. Feel a completely different mood in the bathroom. Here, the shades of ocher and natural wood are warm and warm in soft light, like flames.
