Surrounded by tropical forests in Itacare, Brazil, this fully open sea view villa is hidden in vegetation. The design takes into account environmental restrictions and co-management ordinances to ensure it will not stand out in the landscape, while it will adapt to a parallel surface, avoiding additional soil movement. The neighboring landscape is the main motivation for this project, so much so that it requires the construction structure to be reduced to an absolute minimum. The combination of this structural construction and the slight slope of the land makes it possible to enjoy panoramic views of the sea from all suites.
The choice of material palette takes into account the relationship between environmental requirements and actual use. Therefore, the greatest impact is the ultrathin surface, minimal linings, and quartzite rocks. These are special materials and solutions for aggressive local environments. Construction requirements are extremely stringent, highlighting foundation reinforcement, protection, contention, special drainage technology, and anti-infiltration barriers. There is a collection of orchid collections in the Orchid Botanical Garden that will be used mainly for interior decoration. It is estimated that about 1500 plants will be protected in pine structural laminated timber (MLC).
