The request of this project is to build a four-bedroom practical house for a couple with a young couple with children and stay in close contact with nature. The backdrop of the venue is a busy street facing the front, with heavy traffic and a public bus route running along it. From the very beginning, privacy is paramount, and the designers decided to enclose a floor of living space facing the street with solid walls, creating an interior courtyard, the orientation of the house will take place on the courtyard.
A KEY ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE WAS TO SHIFT THE VIEW TO AN OPEN PRIVATE COURTYARD GARDEN THAT SPANS THREE FLOORS VERTICALLY, ENHANCING THE FEELING OF TROPICAL LIVING. The landscape has been specially designed to stack pots from top to bottom in a manner similar to a forest green wall. Looking out onto the courtyard from the first floor, there is a feeling of being in a naturally lush valley, climbing tigers from above. THE COURTYARD ALSO INTRODUCES NATURAL LIGHTING, VENTILATION, AND NATURAL SCENERY INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE HOUSE ON ALL FLOORS, WHILE PROVIDING A SENSE OF SECURITY AND PRIVACY.
The living room, restaurant and dry kitchen are designed as a single open space, maximized for a feeling of spaciousness. It faces the courtyard with its back, blocking the main street and the west side from the sun on the front. People enter the house through the living room and then through the restaurant and dry kitchen reach the stairs, bringing the occupants to the upper floors. The staircase is located next to the courtyard, allowing residents to immerse themselves in nature as they pass through the floor. The staircase is designed for its openness, with black lacquered steel and open wooden pedals for maximum light penetration. On building elevations, large solid wood pivot screens are used to transfer afternoon heat and create privacy for bedrooms facing the main street.
