Located in Barcelona, Spain, this building is in a state of disrepair due to lack of maintenance. Nevertheless, it shows a series of elements that allow us to see the enormous potential of this building. The building is divided into six buildings, most of which retain their original layout, except for some minor alterations. However, the most eye-catching architectural elements are integrated in a series of basic quality renovations.
The program has three goals: improving the transition between the house and the street by creating a series of public areas; reconnecting the first-floor residences and rear patios through demolition; and finally, restoring the exterior landscape by restoring the original doors and windows. Of these six houses, two types of houses are replicated around stairs and elevators. Both types have a central service core, including kitchen and wet partition. Depending on the floor on which they are located, these families are positioned to offer the best view from the living room. The earliest house faces the patio inside and has a large living room and open kitchen. The bedrooms near the entrance can be divided into two bedrooms if needed in the future. The upstairs houses are arranged differently, and the living room faces the street. The rear area has also been resized to provide space for two bedrooms and two full bathrooms in the center area.
