An 8-storey creative loft in Madrid is a wonderful representation of Studio Ruizvelazquez at Casa Decor 2023. At the heart of the pure link between architecture and life, this design shows how humans and animals share spatial function and freedom under natural coexistence. Through the fusion of sustainability and creativity, designers challenge the limits of traditional space design and let us explore together how this project breaks the boundaries of space and creates a whole new life experience.
The core concept of the design comes from the environment where humans and animals live in nature. Studio Ruizvelazquez uses an iconic cylindrical structure that mimics the shape of tree trunks and branches. Through three-dimensional extension, it creates an organic, light and fluid space that feels like a cozy atmosphere in the midst of a tree.
The design focuses on utilising the height, horizontal expansion and visual fluidity of space. By breaking the limitations of traditional structures, designers have created a living space that meets the needs of everyday life, but with aesthetics and functionality, realizing limitless possibilities within a limited number of floors.
The iconic cylindrical structure serves as the centerpiece of the design, using sustainable textile materials for a branch-like extension effect. These elements give the space both texture and lightness, reinterpreting the visual and functional levels of the home interior, and creating an environment full of inspiration and creativity.
Textile materials as the primary raw material, their consistency and immediacy simulate the feeling of walking around nature. This design not only promotes interaction within the space, but also demonstrates a balance of coexistence and positivity in metropolitan life.
The design achieves visual continuity and a seamless transition of space by removing unnecessary partitions. The angle-free view allows light and air to flow naturally, bringing a natural harmonious atmosphere to the space.
FINNISH ARCHITECT JOHANI PALASMA'S WORK “THE ANIMAL OF ARCHITECTURE” MENTIONS THAT BUILDINGS SHOULD RETURN TO FUNCTIONALITY, STRIVING FOR A BALANCE OF RATIONALITY AND AESTHETICS. This design perfectly embodies this concept, blending environmental logic and practicality, allowing humans and animals to find natural habitats in space.
All materials are considered sustainable, reusable and recyclable to meet modern design requirements for living and environmental protection.
This 8 floor creative loft design by Studio Ruizvelazquez shows how to create a rich sense of levity and functionality in a limited space. At the same time, it also reminds us that design is not just to satisfy visual beauty, but a deep respect for nature and life. Such a design is not only a spatial solution, but also a lifestyle inspiration.
