On a narrow plot of land 9 meters wide and 38 meters long, a three-story half-detached house stands on a slender whole. Located directly in front of an intersection with minimal exterior views, the design is designed to provide a climate-conscious and unique inward-facing home for homeowners who are passionate about gardening and their newlyweds. When building multi-generational dwellings, the design strives to avoid the formation of completely isolated private areas. Instead, it aims to create a shared space where chance encounters and connections thrive.

A towering four-fold atrium is the main passage to the house. The atrium takes advantage of its south-north orientation, enclosed by concrete windbreaks, allowing year-round cross-ventilation. Choose a conical exotic microwind block to maximize the wind hole effect and filter sunlight and rainwater as a bioclimatic elevation. A series of dark-framed skylights on the top of the headboard and the fusion of lush greenery on each level make this signature space more complete.

The enjoyment of the outside elements is not limited to the atrium, but also extends to other parts of the living space. Each floor is occupied by a separate family unit and the atrium is designed to facilitate daily interaction through both open and shared circulation space. For this, the perforated metal mesh staircase is designed as a continuous element that runs along the inner elevation of the house and leads to the top. The interior walls of the atrium are made of full-height sliding glass, which further establishes a visual connection and cross ventilation of the living space. Sustainable elements are cleverly integrated together, with solar panels arranged on the roof, while walnut wood chips are reused from construction debris to embed the micro-cement teahouse floors. Ultimately, the goal of this house is to be a tropical shared space where multiple generations can grow together for many years to come.
